Vitamix 6500

By 2015, the Next Generation was the new face of the Vitamix, courtesy of the cool-running motor and the low-profile container. However, many still preferred the flagship 5200 and other classic C-Series.

At this point, Vitamix decided to give the users a mash-up of the two technologies, leading to the launch of the model 6500 C-Series. The new blender would have a short low-profile container, similar to that of the G-Series models. Then, a classic [C-Series] base, with multiple pre-programmed settings for making Smoothie, Hot Soup, and Frozen Dessert.

In other words, the 6500 is like a hybrid of the models 6300 C-Series and 7500 G-Series. So, we can say it was an improvement to solve storage issues caused by the tall classic processing container.

Vitamix 7500

This was the second addition to the G-Series platform after the original Pro 750. It was like a basic version of the 750 blender, in which case it has no feature for automated blending. All the other functions were intact.

First, Vitamix 7500 has a commercial-grade 2.2-peak horsepower motor, with a radial cooling fan and thermal protection system. So, you can blend the toughest ingredients and even prepare hot soup without a chance of burning out the coils.

More on that, the blender has a re-engineered motor base, with enhanced airflow management and vibration dampening technology. So, you can enjoy blending in a quieter environment- up to 7 decibels reduction in noise level.

Also, Vitamix 7500 has an improved variable speed dial that offers a complete range from the slowest to the maximum speed. This is pretty different from the older classic blenders like the model 5200, whereby you need to play with the “High/ Variable” switch.

More on that, continue reading on the complete comparison review below.

Vitamix 6500 vs 7500: Comparing the various feature and capabilities

Similarities

  • Use of Space

Not every one of us is blessed with our own house or a spacious kitchen. As such, knowing the available space is important if you’re to have the best moments with your blender.

Like most Countertops from the brand, both Vitamix 6500 and model 7500 requires a relatively larger space to work on. Of course, the base dimensions of the two slightly vary, but you’ll need less than 75 square inches to use either.
Furthermore, the blenders have the redesigned low-profile container, which is short but wider than the previous models. So, you can easily slip under most standard kitchen cabinet.

  • Blade and Blending

For years, Vitamix has used laser-cut, aircraft-grade stainless steel as the standard design of its blade assembly. The reason is to maintain high blending efficiency and for a longer time.

With models 6500 C-Series and 7500 G-Series, however, both machines have the new wide jar. So, the engineers had to redesign the blade as well to ensure optimal blending without leaving apple crumbs in your smoothie. They attached the container with longer 4-inch cutting blades instead of the previous 3-inch diameter.

The extra inch allows the ingredients to get into contact with the blades much better. Hence, why the container design is favorable for food-processor type tasks such as chopping.

Also, the 4-inch blades tend to generate more friction than the 3-inch blade of the standard containers. So, you might notice Vitamix 6500 is heating soup a little quicker than the model 6300 [with tall standard pitcher].

  • Container design

As I have been saying, Vitamix designed models 6500 and 7500 with the low-profile 64-ounce container. While comparing with the previous classic design, this new container is shorter but a few inches wider.

With the improvement, the blending jar is now kitchen-friendly, in which case you can fit under most cabinets with ease. That is when the container is still mounting on the base. Just as I have mentioned, the low-profile pitcher also has longer 4-inch blades. Thus, it’s quicker to prep your detox salad as it’s much easier for the machine to chop.

If it’s butter, you might also find it easier to scoop the content from the wider 64-oz container than from the tall, narrow jar. Again, this container design tends to prepare hot mixtures faster, though at a negligible rate.

Despite the various advantages, however, the wide 64-ounce container has two drawbacks that are not with the standard containers. One of them is that you might find it tricky to prepare small batches of thick/ sticky blends such as butter. Second, blending small liquid blends tend to splash a bit. Thus, you may require to clean the container sides and lid a bit more than with the narrow, classic jar.

  • Ease of Use

In my experience, all Vitamix blenders are easy to use. Whether it’s the classic physical switches or the futuristic buttons on the Ascent line, they all have basic controls.

As for our two models, they both use physical switches for the start/ stop and pulse function. This is one of the significant improvements, in which case the maker removed the “High/ Variable speed switch. So, you can now control your speed dial from the slowest to the highest speed without doing any other adjustments.

Previously, you had to switch your classic blender to the “Variable” option so that you can activate the various speeds. True, some believe the addition is no big deal, but I would say it created room for the pulsing function. Thus, allowing you to do delicate mixes like salsa and salad more efficiently.

  • Cleaning and Care

The manner you care for any of your tools is just the way they will care for you. So, you have to keep your blender clean if you want to continue enjoying its convenience and for a long.

Luckily, all Vitamix have easy cleanup due to the self-cleaning feature. It only requires 60 seconds from your time and soapy [warm] water. None of the models has the self-cleaning program, meaning you have to be present so that you can switch off the machine after the wash.

Please note, none of these machines is dishwasher safe in case the feature is crucial for you. Even if it would be supported, though, I would still encourage washing with hands to retain the original appearance and durability.

  • Durability and Warranty

Millions of consumers and food joints trust Vitamix in their kitchen for two main reasons- High Performance and Durability. The Ohio-based company designs its products to last, which is why you may still find someone with a working model 5000 blender.

In any case, Vitamix blenders feature a well-made construction, with a tough plastic base housing and a heavy-duty, cool-running motor. The drive system that connects the container to the motor base is also all metal. Then, the container is a rugged, shatter-proof plastic, with hardened stainless steel blades. Thus, you get to blend the toughest ingredients to precise textures and for several decades before you need to change.

As security for all that, Vitamix packs new 7500 G-Series and 6500 C-Series with a standard 7 years warranty. If you feel you may want the free repairs and replacements for ten years, you can add three more years at a small fee.

Even better, the Vitamix warranty support covers the return shipping both ways. So, no other fees you’ll need to pay after the initial cost.

Differences

  • Appearance and Design

If you take seriously the color setting of your kitchen, Vitamix 7500 is available in standard white, black, and red colors. However, the white and red choices still have a film of black in the mix so that the machine and the lid can be uniform.

Vitamix 6500, on the other hand, is currently available in platinum color, a metallic tint of grayish-white. Nonetheless, you might come across the blender model in a combination of black and red, black and white, or all black.

As for the design, model 7500 has the re-engineered motor base, which has enhanced airflow management and additional vibration dampening technology. hence, you’ll notice it’s relatively quieter than its counterpart, Vitamix 6500, while in use.

  • Power and Performance

Like all Vitamix blenders, classic 6500 and Next Generation 7500 are not average kitchen blenders. The two are husky, strong appliances, made to perform and help you make the most out of your culinary skills. Not just in making nutrient-rich smoothies or dips and sauces. But also to prepare frozen drinks, crush ice, grind grains, and even hot soups.

Even so, Vitamix 7500 has a 2.2-peak HP, which is to say the motor has an extra power boost for an easier start of the blending process. In the engine vocabulary, this means the machine can better handle the resistance when the motor starts spinning.

The model 6500 has the standard 2.2 horsepower, without the extra boost in torque to help it meet the initial resistance. So, its blend may ready a few seconds later than the model 7500, if both machines are started at the same time.

Other than the split seconds, though, the two machines offer a silky and flavorful smoothie. The impressive powerful motors and their high speeds enable the blenders to break through the plant cent walls without issues.

  • Smart features/ Programs

As I mentioned earlier, Vitamix 6500 is like the model 6300 but with a low profile container. The reason I’m saying this is because the newer blender also the three preset programs in the preceding model. That’s the feature to make Smoothies, Frozen Desserts, and Hot Soups.

Therefore, you can activate either of these blending programs and walkaway to do other things. Once the particular mixture is ready, the blender motor will automatically shut down and stop blending. Thus, ensuring consistent and timely results without under- or over-processing.

Meanwhile, Vitamix 7500 has no setting for auto blending. You’ll have to rely on the pulse and the variable speed dial for all your blending or food-processor tasks.

  • Price

Overall, it’s not an easy guess on which is the most expensive between Vitamix 6500 and 7500. The two machines do share in some parts, plus each has unique additional features that the other doesn’t have.

In any case, Vitamix 7500 is cheaper than the Vitamix 6500 at around $40. Of course, that’s not a significant difference, but you can top $35 and buy yourself an extra 3 years on the standard warranty.

If not that, you can top and get a 32-ounce dry grains container since either blender comes with a wet-blade container.

Vitamix 6500 vs 7500: Which is the Best to have?

Of all the comparison I have done recently, Vitamix 7500 vs 6500 are the most likely to confuse you on which to choose. Both machines have a good balance of high performance, durability, and pricing. They share a similar low-profile container that makes it easier to keep the equipment in the cabinet.

That said, though, each blender model has additional features that you may need, but, sadly, its counterpart doesn’t have. If it’s the Vitamix 6500, it has three automated blending programs that you might find useful when multitasking. The function can also be helpful when preparing smoothies or frozen desserts for the first time.

On its end, Vitamix 7500 has the noise dampening technology that you might love if sensitive to loud noises. The feature can also come in handy if you don’t want to disturb the sleep of your young ones in the morning.

So, for today, I will leave you to choose what really suits your current situation. in my case, am still living all by myself. So, my kitchen is okay with either of them.
